as-salaamu ‛alaykum ahl-ad-diyaari

 mi-nal-mu’mineena wal-muslimeena,

wa in-naa in shaa’-allaahu la-laaiqoona,

nas’al-ullaaha lanaa wa-lakumul-‛aafiyah

"Peace be upon you all, O inhabitants of the dwellings (i.e. the graves), amongst the believers and the Muslims. Verily we are, Allah willing, soon to follow (to die also), we ask Allah for well-being for us and for you."

If you have time, it is meritorious to recite some parts from the Quraan Shareef and ask Allah Ta'ala to accept the recital and bestow the Sawaab on the dead. Reciting of Surah Yaseen, Surah Mulk, and Surah Ikhlaas have been specially mentioned in the Hadith.

Others surahs:
1.     Suratul Fatiha three times
4.   Suratul Falaq three times
5.   Suratun Naas three times
2.     Surah aklas three times
2.   Suratul Qadr three times.
3.   Ayatul Kursi three times
6.   Suratu Yaseen.

Than dua:

"Allahumma ighfir li hayyina wa mayyitina,
wa shahidina wa ghaibina
wa sagheerina wa kabeerina
wa thakarina wa unthana.
 Allahumma man ahyaytahu
minna fa ahyihi ala al Islam,
wa man tawaffaytah u
minna fa tawaffahu ala al-iman.
 Allahmma la tahrimna ajrah,
wa la taftinna badah."
Means: "O Allah, grant forgiveness to our living and to our dead, and to those who are present and to those who are absent, and to our young and our old folk, and to our males and our females. O Allah, whomsoever you grant to live, from among us, help him to live in Islam and whomsoever of us you cause to die, help him to die in faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of the reward for patience on his (her, their) loss and do not make us subject to trial after him."

Best dua your own language regarding favor.

Note:

* The term (Muslims) here means all Muslims whether they are righteous or evildoers, while believers or Mu'min only indicates to the righteous only among the Muslims. This must be the case in all occurrences of Muslim and Mu'min (believer) when they are mentioned together in one place.
The above method is the simple and pure way in which Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) and his Sahaba discharged the duty of making ziyaarat of the cemetery. There is no other ceremony or custom to be observed. From the Ahadith we learn that there are three reasons for visiting the cemetery, viz.

Eliminating love of the world from the heart.

Creating remembrance of the Aakbirat in the heart.

Benefiting the dead by reciting the Quraan and Dua.
These requirements are best achieved when visiting the graveyard in the manner explained above and adhering strictly to the Sunnah practice of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam).
